ISLAMABAD: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has felicitated the nation on the observance of the 26th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer.
In his message on the day, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has reiterated the resolve to continue working towards a stable and peaceful world.
He stated, on this day, we successfully demonstrated our nuclear capabilities and joined the ranks of nuclear powers. The Acting President maintained that Youm-e-Takbeer serves as a testament to their nation’s resilience, unwavering determination, and pledge to maintaining regional peace and stability.
He added that Pakistan, as a responsible nuclear nation, firmly believes in the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the day symbolizes the collective effort of all facets of national power, overcoming what seemed like an insurmountable challenge and achieving a landmark in the nation’s defense capabilities.
In a statement via social media, the Prime Minister said, “May 28 signifies more than just a mere commemoration of a day; it encapsulates the narrative of our nation’s arduous yet remarkable path towards establishing a credible minimum deterrence.”
