She went on, “You all know that celebrating 14 August is pathetic when women are not safe in Pakistan. Yesterday, I was standing near Ramada, waiting for my car when three persons approached me and attempted to kidnap me. They harassed me, I had my mobile and bag with me and I was waiting for my family. It was raining, those men held me at gunpoint, dragging me to their car but nobody heard me.”

“I did my own help, I pushed him away and started running, he was armed with guns and could easily shoot me. I reached in front of a car, where a family and Ramada staff saved me, how can I claim to be safe in this country where I am a tax payer. I am not secure here, I can use that tax money to hire personal guards, now, I acknowledge why people keep guards with them, we need security in Pakistan. I can proudly call myself a Muslim, but a proud Pakistani? No.

Nimra Khan also confessed to have been in deep anxiety following the scary incident that took a toll on her health and family.

Nimra Khan concluded the discussion, saying, ” Please stay indoors on August 14. Many incidents occur during this day so stay at home and minimize your outdoor activities as much as possible.”
