COLOMBO: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has formally confirmed its participation in the 2025 Champions Trophy, set to be hosted by Pakistan. The announcement was made during the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) annual meeting presently taking place in Colombo, Sri Lanka where ACB chief Waiz Ashraf and CEO Naseeb Khan conveyed this decision in a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi.
During the talks, the ACB officials have assured their full commitment to sending the Afghan team to Pakistan for the mega event, dismissing recent rumors circulating on different plate forms of social media about potential security concerns.
“Our team will travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025,” they stressed, rejecting the false and baseless news reports on social media.
