TEHRAN: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, has called upon the Islamic world to unite in raising their collective voice for a free Palestine and to stand against the ongoing massacre in Gaza. Muttaqi was speaking at the international conference for supporting Palestine in Tehran, Iran.
Addressing the ‘High Political Consultative Seminar on Palestine,’ FM Muttaqi strongly condemned the actions of Israel in Gaza, accusing the international community of showing double standards in addressing the crisis. He stressed the need for a unified Islamic voice to address the pressing humanitarian concerns in the region.
Muttaqi expressed concern over the dual interpretation of Gaza’s war policies and highlighted the inevitable need for a change in the global order. He criticized the world’s contradictory response to minor human rights violations while overlooking the continuous genocide of a nation.
“At this very moment, a young Palestinian in Gaza is martyred, a mother becomes grief-stricken, and children become orphaned. It is the seventy-eighth day of indiscriminate massacre and genocide in Gaza, and the world is a spectator to this brutal tragedy,” Muttaqi remarked.
The Acting Foreign Minister questioned the effectiveness of the current global order in addressing 21st-century human needs and emphasized the necessity of a new world order based on justice and equality, where no human right or country is ignored for political reasons.
Muttaqi Condemns Sanctions on Afghanistan
Muttaqi also criticized the sanctions imposed on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, stating, “It is ridiculous when my country, Afghanistan, faces sanctions under the pretext of human rights after more than four decades of foreign invasions, wars, and turmoil.”
Condemning the Zionist regime’s atrocities in Gaza and Palestine, Muttaqi affirmed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s consistent condemnation of the occupation’s oppression. He urged Islamic countries to play a more effective role in ending the unjust massacre of innocent Palestinian people.
