ISLAMABAD: Africa Day has been observed in Pakistan to further enhance ties with African countries. According to a press statement, additional Foreign Secretary Shehryar Akbar Khan, highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to fostering deeper relationships with African nations, showcasing successes of the Engage Africa Policy initiated in 2019.
The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) organized a ceremony to celebrate Africa Day to highlight the rich culture of the continent.
On the occasion, senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari underscored the vast potential for economic and trade growth between Pakistan and African countries, emphasizing Pakistan’s active role in capacity-building initiatives.
The ceremony featured prominent African ambassadors and business leaders who discussed global challenges like climate change and explored opportunities for enhancing economic ties through sister city agreements and business delegations.
