ISLAMABAD: An agreement has been signed for the Machike-Thallian-Tarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project, marking a significant step in completing the oil pipeline network from Karachi to Peshawar.

The agreement was signed by key stakeholders, including Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), at a ceremony held in Islamabad today.

The new 477-kilometer pipeline will run from Machike, near Lahore, to Tarujabba, near Peshawar. It will be divided into two segments: Machike-Thallian and Thallian-Tarujabba, aligning with the Motorway.

The pipeline will connect with the Attock Refinery, Chakpirana, and Faqirabad, effectively integrating the petroleum supply chain from Karachi to Peshawar.

With an initial capacity of seven million tons per annum, the pipeline can be expanded to handle up to 10 million tons per annum. The project is designed to enhance energy efficiency in the transportation of petroleum products, reduce adulteration, and improve safety.

The pipeline aims to diminish reliance on road transport, minimize environmental impact, and boost the efficiency of oil distribution. Construction is set to begin shortly, with partners committed to completing the project within the established timeline.

This project underscores the Petroleum Division’s and the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s dedication to advancing energy-efficient petroleum distribution.
