RIYADH: The AI-enhanced visual medical service tried by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Ministry of Interior on security personnel participating in this year’s Hajj season had proved useful, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday. The service uses a capsule enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI) and modern communication technologies to conduct the necessary medical examinations within six minutes for each person in the workplace, according to the SPA.

“The capsule permits for 26 physiological steps, the most significant of which are measuring height and weight, body and muscle mass, temperature, blood pressure, energy requirements, oxygen level, heart rate, and heart rate variability,” said the report, citing the ministry’s General Administration of Medical Services.

An individual’s health status data are also analyzed by the built-in artificial intelligence system, and medical consultation is administered remotely by a doctor. The essential medications are then prescribed through the Wasfati system.

The pilot service decreases the need to visit hospitals or medical centers, and providing a safe and private atmosphere for conducting health examinations and medical consultations at the workplaces, the report added. The SPA further said that the personnel covered by the service are from the Ministry of Interior and the Presidency of State Security.
