ISLAMABAD: Popular Pakistani singer Aima Baig has responded to comments made by fellow artist Sara Raza Khan, who claimed Baig relies on autotune to enhance her vocals.
Sara Raza, during an interview with a private TV channel, argued that without autotune, “Aima Baig is not a singer at all,” naming her among other performers she views as relying more on image and entertainment value than musical skill.
“If we take out the option of autotune, then Aima Baig is not a singer at all. There are many other names,” Sara said in the interview, adding, “We like them as actors, entertainers, models, or for their faces.”
In response, Baig took to Instagram, resharing clips of her fans highlighting her live vocal performances. In a witty Instagram Story, she wrote, “Allah nay jisko jitna talent diya [bhai] hamain kabool hai”. She humorously added, “By the way, someone tell me who this aunty is. Actually, never mind, I should enjoy my vacation.”
Baig has established herself as one of Pakistan’s top playback singers since her debut in 2016, winning accolades like the Tamgha-e-Fakhre-Imtiaz and working with renowned musicians, including Asim Azhar, Ali Zafar, Ali Sethi, and Sahir Ali Bagga.
Her hit songs have been featured in popular Pakistani films such as Lahore Se Aagay, Na Maloom Afraad 2, Teefa in Trouble, and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
