ISLAMABAD: Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and Al Azhar University of Egypt, both institutes will initiate joint projects to collaborate academically. Al Azhar is the most prestigious and oldest educational institution in the Muslim world.
Additionally, under the terms of the agreement, the academic projects developed jointly will offer new opportunities and educational programs for faculty members along with students’ exchange programs.
Apart from these, both universities will launch a joint degree program in the future, and faculty members of both universities will be able to do PhDs as well as post-doctorates from their respective universities.
MoU to help in boosting quality of faculty members
AIOU’s Vice Chancellor Dr Nasir Mehmood and Al Azhar University’s President Dr Salama Daoud signed the MoU.
On the occasion, Dr Nasir stated that the training of faculty members is essential to enhance the quality of education, which is being facilitated through a special focus on collaborations with international universities.
