The emergency landing took place at approximately 4:15 pm (0815 GMT), during which “all passengers and crew have evacuated safely,” the statement noted, though it did not specify the exact number of individuals on board.

The statement further mentioned that “the fire in the left engine has been put out.”

A video clip circulating on social media, purportedly of the affected aircraft on the tarmac, depicted passengers using an emergency slide to disembark.

Air China Providing Assistance to Passengers

Both Air China and Changi Airport Group, the airport operator, have been actively providing assistance to passengers and crew affected by the incident, according to Changi Airport’s statement.

As a result of the emergency landing, the runway at Changi Airport is temporarily closed, potentially impacting flight operations in the area. However, no further details were provided regarding the extent of these disruptions.
