MIRPUR, AJK: As the calendar inches closer to February 5, the residents and authorities of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) are preparing to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day with heightened determination this Tuesday.

Kashmiri rights advocate Sardar Amjad Yousaf remarked, “Kashmir Solidarity Day holds immense significance for the Kashmiri people on both sides of the Line of Control and worldwide. It serves as a reminder of the unbreakable connection between the people and government of Pakistan and their Kashmiri brethren, showcasing unwavering support for their struggle for liberation.”

This annual observance extends across Pakistan and AJK, symbolizing solidarity with the residents of Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) in their rightful and principled pursuit of freedom from India’s illegitimate control.

Despite grappling with a challenging situation since the Indian government’s revocation of Article 370 and 35-A on August 5, 2019, the inhabitants of IIOJK continue to exhibit resilience in their quest for self-determination. On this momentous day, AJK stands united in its endorsement of the Kashmiri people’s right to freedom, a cause acknowledged by the international community.

Yousaf underscored the necessity of resolving the Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan, emphasizing its status as a pivotal issue and regional flashpoint.

Since its establishment in 1975, Kashmir Solidarity Day has been designated as a public holiday in Pakistan and AJK, reaffirming the commitment to bring an end to India’s unlawful and coercive occupation of Kashmir.
