MIRPUR: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Anwarul Haq on Tuesday strongly condemned the massacre of innocent Muslims of Jammu in 1947 terming the incident as one of the worst atrocities in human history.

In his message for Jammu Martyrs’ Day to be observed on November 6th, the AJK Prime Minister said that the Indian Army, Dogra forces and extremist Hindu groups under the patronage of Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh systematically killed over 250,000 unarmed Muslims in Jammu.

He denounced the brutality of the incident, where women were abducted and Muslims were forced to leave their homeland and migrate to Pakistan. The PM acknowledged the generous support provided by Pakistan to the Jammu refugees.

The AJK leader added that India has continued its attempts to convert the Muslim majority in occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a minority, referring to the abrogation of Article 35-A and the new domicile regulations.

He urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions on Kashmir and address the gross human rights violations in the region.

The Prime Minister also paid glowing tribute to the martyrs of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and expressed hope that the flag of Pakistan will soon be hoisted in Srinagar.
