MIRPUR: Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing visit to the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) state, labelling it as an attempt to deceive the international community and conceal the true situation in IIOJK.
In a statement, the AJK Prime Minister criticized Modi’s visit to the troubled region, stating that it only added insult to injury for Kashmiris who endure violence and oppression by Indian forces daily. He asserted that the Kashmiri people reject such visits aimed at painting a false picture of Kashmir.
Referring to Modi’s political tactics, the PM denounced Modi and his party’s divisive politics, particularly their anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistani rhetoric during recent elections. Despite such tactics, Modi failed to secure a majority in the Lok Sabha elections.
Regarding the deteriorating situation in IIOJK, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq warned that conditions have worsened under the BJP regime. He accused the Modi government of orchestrating false flag operations to further its political agenda against Pakistan and Kashmiris.
Highlighting the grim realities in IIOJK, the PM emphasized rampant poverty and soaring unemployment due to Modi’s oppressive policies. He cited international organizations’ concerns, such as Amnesty International and the United Nations, over human rights abuses in the region.
The AJK Prime Minister also noted the heavy security measures implemented by the Indian government, including a curfew and declaring Kashmir a red zone, ahead of Modi’s visit. He asserted that such actions reflect Modi’s fear of Kashmiri dissent.
The PM affirmed that Kashmiris aspire for freedom from Indian oppression and will continue their struggle until they achieve their goal, despite attempts to mislead the international community.
