LONDON: A reported “growing rift” between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has surfaced, with concerns emerging about the direction of their lives post-royal departure, according to insights from royal author and expert Tom Quinn.
As per a report by The Mirror, the Duchess of Sussex is increasingly troubled by the trajectory of her life not aligning with her plans, indicating strains within their relationship.
“There is a growing rift between Harry and Meghan caused by Meghan’s increasing concern that her life is not going in the direction she had planned,” said Tom Quinn in an interview with the news portal.
Quinn further noted Meghan’s apparent discontent with the level of media attention they receive in the United States, expressing her displeasure over surveys suggesting waning interest from the American public in their activities.
“Meghan loves media attention and hates the fact that surveys suggest she and Harry are no longer of much interest to the American public,” Quinn stated.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Montecito, California, in 2020, initially welcomed and forging connections in Hollywood. However, recent reports indicate a decline in their popularity, a development that has reportedly unsettled Meghan.
Quinn also highlighted Meghan Markle’s entrepreneurial venture, American Riviera Orchard, launched in March. The brand focuses on home decor, kitchen items, and an array of healthy edible options, including jellies, jams, marmalades, and fruit preserves.
However, the launch of American Riviera Orchard did not proceed without criticism. “The one fly in the ointment is Meghan’s new internet brand, America Riviera Orchard. Meghan was in tears when the brand launched and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special,” Quinn remarked.
Regarding Prince Harry, Quinn noted a potential source of tension related to his social circle. “He has become increasingly bored and is looking back to the UK, where most of his army and school friends still live. He never sees them because they won’t visit him in the States because they find Meghan difficult,” the royal expert explained.
Quinn added that Meghan Markle is particularly sensitive to any critiques of her luxurious lifestyle in the U.S., believing it should be admired rather than criticized.
