MIRPUR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the international community to take action against India’s Hindutva policies, warning of a grave threat to the entire South Asian region. The APHC expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to a statement by APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, India’s Hindutva policies pose a significant risk of destabilizing the entire South Asian region if the Kashmir dispute remains unresolved. The spokesperson highlighted India’s shift towards Hindutva-based anti-Kashmir and anti-Pakistan policies, citing the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A by the BJP government as an example.
The APHC commended its detained leaders for their unwavering commitment to the right to self-determination despite Indian hegemony and fascism. The Conference condemned the escalating state repression in IIOJK, including the arbitrary detention of over four thousand Hurriyat leaders, activists, and human rights defenders.
The APHC called on the United Nations Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch to pressure India for the release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, including prominent figures such as Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, and many others.
