ISLAMABAD: The Ambassadors of various countries to Pakistan have expressed condolences over the death of President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, and the Iranian Minister for Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a helicopter crash.
The Ambassador of Oman, Palestine, Iraq, and Syria visited the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad and expressed their condolences with Iran and its people. The Ambassadors also signed the book of condolences during the visit.
Earlier, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam has announced that President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hussain Amirabdollahian have passed away after a helicopter crash in a mountainous region. In a statement, he said, “I regret to announce with profound grief President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hussain Amirabdollahian, embraced Shahadat following a helicopter crash while on a mission to inaugurate a developmental project with a neighbouring country.”
Iranian media declared President Raisi dead on Monday following his helicopter crash in a mountainous region. Iran’s Mehr News agency reported, “The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi, had an accident while serving and performing his duty for the people of Iran and was “killed”. It reported that the Iranian president, foreign minister and other occupants of the helicopter, including East Azerbaijan Province Governor Malek Rahmati, have been killed.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also announced a “Day of Mourning” in the country over the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan province.
