HATTA: The All Manipur Muslim Organisation Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) has called upon the Indian Manipur state government to take immediate action in identifying and apprehending the culprits responsible for the bomb blast in Kwakta.

The committee strongly condemns the heinous act and demands that the perpetrators be brought to justice in accordance with the law.

AMMOCOC General Secretary, Wahidur Rahman, expressed his dismay over the incident, which occurred on June 21, the same day when a peace rally, and human chain were organized by the committee to promote peace and advocate for the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state. The rally encompassed all Meitei-Pangal inhabitant areas, including Kwakta. Unfortunately, a sophisticated IED bomb detonated in an area densely populated by the Meitei-Pangal community.

Wahidur Rahman voiced concerns regarding the motives behind the blast, questioning why it specifically targeted a location where the Pangals, a Muslim ethnic group, constitute a majority. He called for a thorough investigation to uncover any hidden agendas and determine the culprits responsible for this appalling act.

Govt Actions to Control Manipur Violence

AMMOCOC expressed its hope that the government would take prompt and appropriate action to identify and bring the culprits to justice. The committee also emphasized the importance of the all-political party meeting scheduled for June 24, convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They appealed for the meeting to yield constructive steps towards achieving an amicable solution.
