WASHINGTON: Google unveils groundbreaking Android software upgrade aimed at reducing constant notification interruptions, set for release later this year.

The update, which will be made available later this year, comes after the tech corporation surprised everyone by releasing an earlier version that allowed users to alter messages, as The US Sun reported.

Tech lovers have found a new function called “Notification cooldown” in the Android 15 beta. This feature is perfect for people who have received a lot of notifications from the same source, such as a lot of business emails or several WhatsApp messages.

The tool “gradually lowers the notification volume when you get many successive notifications from the same app,” according to the feature description, which reduces the amount of notifications that ping your phone at once.

This feature gradually reduces notification volume for successive alerts from the same app, offering relief for heavy message traffic. Described as a “game changer,” it provides options to apply to all notifications, conversations, or disable.

Android 15, codenamed Vanilla Ice Cream, promises additional features like partial screen sharing, enhanced camera controls, and the return of lock screen widgets, as revealed in the first beta.
