ANF Recovers 2.4 Tons of Drugs in Five Countrywide Operations

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), in five operations nationwide, managed to recover more than 2.4 tons of drugs and apprehended five individuals, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Thursday.

He further informed that 85 capsules filled with ice were recovered from a passenger’s stomach in an operation at Allama Iqbal Airport. The accused was leaving for Middle East on flight number PA-470.

Additionally, 2 kg of ice were confiscated from a passenger bound for Bahrain on Flight No. PA-079 at Faisalabad Airport. In Qila Abdullah, a house was found to contain 2000 kg of hashish.

Near the Sial Mor interchange on the highway, a vehicle was intercepted, leading to the recovery of 205.2 kg of opium and 289.2 kg of hashish. On University Road Peshawar, three suspects were detained, resulting in the confiscation of 1 kg of opium. The arrested individuals face charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, with ongoing investigations.   —APP
