RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted eight operations nationwide seized a total of 207 kilograms of drugs and apprehended nine accused, an ANF Headquarters spokesperson on Thursday.
He said that a parcel containing 122 grams of Ice drug disguised as spoons destined for the US was intercepted at a Courier Office in Rawalpindi. At Allama Iqbal International Airport, 216 grams of heroin were discovered in a parcel being sent to Kuwait.
In another operation, 200 grams of weed were seized at GPO Multan from a parcel originating in America.
Two persons riding a motorcycle in Bahria Town Rawalpindi were found in possession of 100 ecstasy tablets. Acting on information from these arrests, ANF conducted a raid in Sector E-11, recovering over 3,100 ecstasy tablets and arresting another individual.
In a separate operation, a car intercepted near Northern Bypass Karachi yielded 19.2 kg of hashish, leading to the apprehension of a suspect. A joint operation with the Motorway Police near Talibwala Toll Plaza resulted in the seizure of over 7.7 kg of heroin from a vehicle, along with the arrest of two suspects.
A further operation in Pakpatan led to the confiscation of over 1 kg of Ice drug and 16 intoxicated tablets from three individuals on a motorcycle.
The accused in these cases have been officially charged, and ongoing investigations are in progress.
