ANP Delegation Visits Iranian Consulate to Mourn Raisi’s Death

PESHAWAR: A delegation of the Awami National Party (ANP), headed by provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain, visited the Iranian Consulate in Peshawar to express condolences over the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash on May 19.

The delegation, including ANP provincial vice general secretary Sayyed Aqil Shah, general secretary Hussain Shah Khan, provincial vice president Shahi Khan Shirani, and spokesman Arsalan Khan, met with Deputy Consul General Hussain Maliki to convey their heartfelt sympathies over the loss of President Raisi and other government officials.

During the meeting, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said the death of the Iranian President, Foreign Minister Dr Hussain Ameer Abdul Hayan and other government high-ups was a great tragedy.

Highlighting Raisi’s contributions, he said that Iranian President always wanted brotherly, peaceful and strong relations with neighboring countries, applauding the Iranian people’s resilience during this challenging time.

Expressing hope for a peaceful and harmonious transition to a new Iranian president, Hussain commended the Iranian Supreme Council’s handling of the situation.

The Iranian Deputy Consul General expressed gratitude for the ANP delegation’s solidarity and support, foreseeing enhanced relations between the two countries.

The delegation paid tribute to the Iranian people and offered prayers for the souls of those lost in the helicopter crash.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain also penned his condolences in the visitors’ book.
