ISLAMABAD: Following the shortage of essential medicine, a consignment of anti-tetanus injections is expected to reach Pakistan on May 27, local media reported.
According to media reports, a local pharmaceutical company has taken proactive measures by importing 1.5 million doses of the crucial injection, earmarked for distribution to the Punjab government.

The timely intervention aims to address the pressing need for anti-tetanus treatment across healthcare facilities in the region.
Media reported that the Punjab government will immediately start the distribution of the anti-tetanus injections upon their arrival to mitigate the ongoing healthcare crisis.

Furthermore, the pharmaceutical company has initiated local production of the injections, with an additional 1.5 million doses already in the pipeline. These locally manufactured doses are currently undergoing quality testing procedures to ensure compliance with established safety standards before dissemination.

Medical experts emphasize the critical importance of the tetanus vaccine in safeguarding public health, highlighting its role in protecting individuals against the debilitating effects of tetanus, commonly known as lockjaw. With no cure available, timely vaccination serves as a vital preventive measure, with the potential to avert tragic outcomes in cases of infection.
