APHC Calls for Implementation of UN Resolutions to Resolve Kashmir Issue

SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has said that a durable solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in the implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions.

The APHC leaders Abdul Ahad Parra, Bashir Ahmed Andrabi, Zabmoorda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Dr Musaib and Muhammad Saleem Zargar in their statements in Srinagar said that sustainable peace in the region was linked to the settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people, Kashmir Media Service reported.

They said that the Kashmiri people had been engaged in a peaceful struggle to secure their birthright to self-determination for over seventy years.

APHC demands Immediate release of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders

The APHC demanded the immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, including APHC Chairman Masarrat Alam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Aiyaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Maulvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Muhammad Yousuf Mir, Hayat Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Syed Shahid Yusuf Shah, Dr Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Syed Shakeel Yousaf Shah, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo and Ghulam Qadir Butt who have been booked in different jails of India and IIOJK.

The leaders also called on the UN chief António Guterres and other international human rights organisations to help release all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders, youth activists, religious scholars, human rights defenders and journalists.
