SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the recent custodial killings of three innocent civilians by the Indian Army in Poonch district of the Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The victims, Safeer Hussain, Mohammad Showkat, and Shabbir Ahmed, were reportedly apprehended during a search operation by Indian troops in the Bafliaz area and subsequently killed in custody, as reported by Kashmir Media Service.

An APHC spokesperson, in a statement from Srinagar, highlighted that such tragic incidents of civilians being killed in custody have sadly become a regular occurrence in occupied Jammu and Kashmir due to actions by Indian troops. The spokesperson urged the international community to recognize and address the war crimes being committed by these forces in the region.

Additionally, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, the APHCAJK Convener, expressed grave concern over the situation in Poonch district, labeling it as extremely volatile. He pointed out the alarming increase in target killings, arbitrary detentions, and widespread human rights violations carried out with impunity by Indian forces and secret agencies in the region. Saghar emphasized that the Indian forces have instilled a climate of fear throughout the occupied territory and urged the United Nations to intervene and acknowledge the dire circumstances faced by the over a million people living under the siege of more than a million Indian forces, who have been deprived of their basic rights in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
