APHC Condemns Fresh Arrest Spree by Indian Forces in IIOJK

SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) on Sunday strongly condemned the fresh spree of raids, arrests, and crackdowns unleashed by the Indian troops in every nook and corner of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the Indian Lok Sabha election.

In a statement, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas termed the house raids and arrest of dozens of activists by Indian troops in different parts of IIOJK as the worst form of political vengeance to punish Kashmiris for challenging India’s illegal occupation of their motherland, Kashmir Media Service reported.

He expressed serious concern over the victimization of common people by the Indian troops as well as sleuths of the dreaded National Investigation Agency and State Investigation Agency during cordon and search operations and house raids in Srinagar, Kupwara, Kulgam, Shopian, Baramulla, Pulwama, Bandipora, Rajouri, Kishtwar Islamabad, Poonch, and other districts.

The statement said the Indian brutalities cannot force Kashmiris into submission and they will continue their independence struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion.

APHC Reiterates Demand to Release Kashmiri Political Prisoners in Indian Jails

The APHC demanded the release of all illegally incarcerated Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in different prisons in India and the occupied territory.

Abdul Rashid Minhas also expressed deep concern over the worst human rights violations in India, including the forced eviction of Kashmiri people from their homes and the sale of their lands to non-state residents.

Due to such actions, an atmosphere of terror and fear has been established in the entire territory, he lamented.

The statement appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and other world bodies to send their teams to take stock of the serious human rights situation in the occupied valley.
