ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has underscored the imperative of addressing the Kashmir conflict within its historical context, aligning with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas highlighted the resilient spirit of Kashmiris in the face of the oppressive policies of the BJP-led Hindutva government.

Minhas condemned the iron-fist approach and militaristic tactics employed by the Modi regime, emphasizing that such measures have failed to deter the Kashmiri populace’s determination for freedom. He decried the systematic dispossession of Kashmiri civilians, including property confiscations, land expropriations, and the dismissal of local employees, as part of the ongoing settler colonialism campaign orchestrated by the Hindutva government.

Expressing concern over the influx of non-local settlers into Kashmir and the consequent demographic changes, Minhas reiterated the Kashmiris’ desire for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. He urged for the Kashmir dispute to be addressed through peaceful means, respecting the historical context and the genuine aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Minhas also raised alarm over the unlawful detention of resistance leaders, activists, and youth across Indian jails and the occupied territory. He called upon international human rights organizations to intervene and secure the prompt release of those unjustly imprisoned.

Furthermore, the APHC spokesman urged the United Nations to intervene and prevent India from implementing a settler colonialism agenda akin to the Israeli model in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He called for the UN to facilitate the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with its resolutions, ensuring the rights and aspirations of the Kashmiri people are upheld.
