APHC Leaders Pay Rich Tribute to Victims of Kupwara Massacre

ISLAMABAD: Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have asked for an impartial international probe into all events of mass killings in occupied the Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). They made the call on the anniversary of the Kupwara massacre.

Indian troops had cruelly martyred 27 innocent Kashmiris by resorting to indiscriminate firing in Kupwara town on this day in 1994. The mass killing was carried out by the forces to punish people for observing the shut-down on Indian Republic Day, a day ago in that year, according to Kashmir Media Service.

The APHC leaders and organizations including Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qumi, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Abdul Ahad, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Democratic Freedom Movement, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, and human rights activist Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in their statements said the Kupwara carnage was the worst example of Indian state terrorism in occupied valley.

They said that the Kashmir conflict had become a focus of attention at the global level due to the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs.

APHC Deplores Indian troops

The leaders and organizations deplored Indian forces involved in the Kupwara carnage and other bloodbaths in IIOJK have not been punished to date.

They maintained that Kashmiris would not allow the sacrifices of their martyrs to go to waste and would accomplish their mission of freedom at all costs.  They appealed to the global community to hold India accountable for its crimes in occupied Kashmir and force it to settle the dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiris people.
