ISLAMABAD: On August 14, the jailed leadership of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) issued messages of congratulations to Pakistan on its 77th Independence Day.
In a message from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail, APHC Chairman Massrat Alam Butt extended warm wishes to the Pakistani nation, expressing deep gratitude for Pakistan’s continued political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmir cause.
Speaking from Tihar Jail as well, senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah called the Kashmir dispute a “unfinished agenda” stemming from the subcontinent’s partition. He asserted that the realization of a stable and prosperous Pakistan remains unattainable without resolving the Kashmir dispute and integrating it into Pakistan.
Similarly, incarcerated APHC leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan expressed heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He commended Pakistan’s steadfast support for their struggle for self-determination and hoped that the Pakistani government would continue to advocate for the Kashmir issue and expose Indian atrocities on international platforms.
