SRINAGAR: On the upcoming 2nd martyrdom anniversary of great Kashmiri leader, Syed Ali Gilani, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has reaffirmed its resolute call for the ‘Hyderpora Chalo’ movement.

Set to take place on Friday in the contested region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, this commemorative event holds significant meaning for Kashmiris striving for their rights and recognition.

Prominent figures within the APHC, including Muhammad Ramzan, Shahid Saleem, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Muhammad Iqbal, Mukhtar Waza, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Farida Behanji, Syed Saleem Gilani, Khadim Hussain, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi, Ghulam Nabi War, Waseem Ahmed, Ghazi Manzoor, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Jameel Ahmed, and Peezada Atta Uallah, have issued poignant statements from Srinagar. These leaders have ardently urged not only the Kashmiri populace residing across the Line of Control but also those living abroad, to partake in protest demonstrations on the designated day. Their collective aim is to expose the rampant injustices and crimes perpetrated by India within the occupied Jammu and Kashmir region.

Syed Ali Gilani, a venerable Kashmiri leader, remains an enduring inspiration for generations to come, thanks to his unwavering dedication and ultimate sacrifices in the pursuit of Kashmiri freedom. His legacy resonates with the core ideals of the Kashmiri struggle, embodying the unwavering spirit that has kept the movement alive.

In the face of adversity, the leaders of APHC firmly assert that while India may attempt to quell Kashmiris, it cannot extinguish their indomitable yearning for freedom. They make a heartfelt appeal to international bodies like the United Nations (UN), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and global human rights organizations to take serious note of the egregious human rights violations perpetrated by India in the Kashmir region. Their call extends to these bodies to urgently and decisively intervene to curtail India’s state-sponsored terrorism.

As the anniversary approaches, posters have once again emerged across various territories in the occupied region. These posters are the result of collective efforts by APHC, Wareseen-e-Shuda, Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement, JK Justice and Peace Initiative, Nawjawanan-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Justice League Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Movement, Resistance Youth Forum Jammu Kashmir, Democratic Youth Forum JK, and other like-minded organizations. Their shared objective is to rally people toward the Hyderpora area, where they can pay their respects to the revered leader on September 1st. Additionally, these organizations have requested mosque imams and khateebs to hold special prayers in memory of Syed Ali Gilani and the other valiant Kashmiri martyrs.
