ISLAMABAD: The leadership of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has called upon the international community to play its due role to end Indian occupation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Hurriyat leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, addressing media in Islamabad on Monday said the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions to end the longstanding Kashmir dispute should be ensured at the earliest.

He went on to say the global powers must take notice of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s barbarism in IIOJK.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said after the unilateral and illegal actions of 5th August 2019 by the BJP-led regime, now Indian government is now trying to change the demographic structure of IIOJK.

He added that the Muslim community of Kashmir is facing employment issues due to discriminatory policies of the Indian government.

He noted the Indian authorities are implementing a Hindu educational system to damage Muslim civilization. Rehmani said Hurriyat leadership who resisted these unlawful acts is facing illegal cases.

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference’s spokesman in a statement from Srinagar said India’s Hindutva regime led by fascist Narendra Modi has started a systematic assault on the Muslim identity of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He noted the ruling BJP is working to disempower Muslims, erode their religious and cultural identity, and impose Hindutva ideology in the occupied region.

He highlighted a series of actions taken by the Modi regime in a bid to erase Kashmir’s Islamic roots. These include the promotion of Hindutva through cultural programs, the taking over of religious sites and the forced integration of Hindu traditions and symbols into daily life.

The spokesman asked the international community to put pressure on the Indian government to stop its policies of cultural domination and religious coercion in IIOJK.

Meanwhile, Indian occupation authorities stopped senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from attending a mass marriage event in Srinagar, later he virtually addressed the event.

On the other hand, Indian troops and paramilitary forces continued their search operations in various districts of the IIOJK including Poonch, Kishtwar and Rajouri.
