SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a vehement condemnation against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and its agencies for the alleged attachment of properties belonging to Hurriyat activists and individuals advocating their right to self-determination.

Prominent APHC leaders, including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Hafsa, Maulvi Musaib Nadvi, Prof Zubairi, Imtiyaz Reshi, Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi, and others, expressed their strong disapproval in separate statements in Srinagar. They characterized the property attachment as a colonial-era tactic employed by the BJP to undermine the political will of the people of Kashmir and the Hurriyat camp.

Accusing the BJP of implementing Hindutva agendas, the leaders pointed to the involvement of the Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain in what they termed as anti-Kashmir violent tactics. They alleged that the Modi government was using these agencies to harass and humiliate the families of Hurriyat leaders, youth, and activists, aiming to weaken the demand for the right to self-determination.

In Islamabad, APHCAJK Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, along with Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Advocate Parvaiz Shah, Shameem Shawl, Muhammad Sultan Butt, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf, and Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, issued separate statements. They labeled the BJP’s move as a pressure tactic to suppress the voice of Kashmiris, emphasizing that such tactics would not intimidate Hurriyat leaders.

The leaders urged India to cease its policy of persecuting Kashmiris for asserting their legitimate demands, advocating for adherence to international law, and calling for steps to settle the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions. They characterized the property attachments as constitutional aggression by the Hindutva regime, expressing concerns about the RSS fascist regime’s intentions towards Kashmiris.

The APHC leaders appealed to the global community to intervene, facilitate the resolution of the Kashmir dispute, and protect Kashmiris from what they referred to as Hindutva terrorism.
