ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference has urged India to fulfill its promise to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) regarding granting them the right to self-determination.

APHC leaders, including Muhammad Musaib Wani, Yaseen Attai, Fareeda Behanji, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, M. Khawaja Firdous, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Bashir Andrabi, and Maulana Musaib Nadvi, in their separate statements issued in Srinagar, said that despite more than seven decades passing, the promise made to the Kashmiris remained unfulfilled, according to the Kashmir Media Service.

They stated that the unresolved Kashmir issue was the root cause of tension and unrest between Pakistan and India.

Additionally, they emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and not solely an internal matter of India.

India Turns IIOJK into hell

The leaders lamented that India has turned IIOJK into a living hell for its residents. They criticized New Delhi’s stubborn approach as a significant obstacle to resolving the Kashmir issue, thereby jeopardizing peace in the region.

The APHC leaders asserted that lasting peace, stability, and development could only be achieved through the resolution of the lingering Kashmir conflict based on the right to self-determination promised to the Kashmiris by the UN resolution of January 5, 1949.
