CUPERTINO, California: Apple’s upcoming artificial intelligence features will be delayed and won’t be included in the initial release of the new iPhone and iPad software updates, Bloomberg reported. Sources said that Apple plans to start rolling out Apple AI to customers through software updates by October. The AI features are expected to arrive a few weeks after the initial releases of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, which are scheduled for September.  Apple intends to make Apple Intelligence available for early testing by software developers this week via iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas, the report added.

Apple did not respond to a request for comment over the matter. In June, the company highlighted its commitment to AI with several new features and software enhancements for its iPhone and other devices to boost declining sales. Apple Intelligence, capable of generating text, images, and other content on demand, will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad and Mac models with the M1 chip or later versions.

Additionally, the iPhone Mirroring feature on MacOS Sequoia allows users to view and interact with their phone’s screen on Mac computers. The report follows Apple’s decision in late June to delay the launch of three new AI features due to European Union tech regulations requiring compatibility with rival products and services.
