Arab League Chief Leaves for Moscow to Discuss Gaza Situation with Russia’s Top Leadership

CAIRO: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit has left for Russia to discuss the current developments and situation in the Gaza Strip, local media reported on Sunday.

Arab League Chief Leaves for Moscow

In a statement, spokesperson for the Arab League Secretary-General, Gamal Roshdy, said that the Arab League chief flew to Moscow on an official visit at the invitation of Russia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov.

As per media reports, the head of Arab League will discuss key regional, global matters especially the current situation and escalation in the Gaza Strip.

The trip came after the Palestinian group Hamas on Saturday launched a surprise assault on Israel. As per local media reports more than 600 Israelis were killed while 370 Palestinian were martyred during the current wave of violence in the region.
