SYDNEY: Pop sensation and actress Ariana Grande made headlines in Sydney on Saturday as she arrived with her boyfriend and Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater, to promote their highly anticipated film adaptation of the popular Broadway musical.
The couple was spotted together in the Australian city, just days before the Wicked premiere, and seemed to embody their on-screen characters with their stylish appearance.
Grande, 31, who portrays Glinda in the movie, was dressed in a character-inspired ensemble, donning a pink long-sleeved polo shirt and pleated skirt that echoed her Wicked role. She completed her look with Burberry checked pumps, a crossbody Versace bag, and a Burberry bowling bag, capturing the essence of Glinda’s signature style.
Slater, a seasoned Broadway performer known for his role in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, sported a casual look with a brown sweater, navy blue pants, and sneakers.
The duo arrived in Sydney alongside fellow cast members Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, and Marissa Bode, who is also featured in the upcoming film. Grande and Slater’s relationship first went public in July 2023 after they met on the Wicked set.
Their romance blossomed after Grande’s split from ex-husband Dalton Gomez and Slater’s separation from his ex-wife Lilly Jay.
The Wicked film, which will have its premiere at the iconic State Theatre in Sydney, opens on November 3, 2024, and is scheduled for a U.S. theatrical release on November 22, 2024. The sequel, Wicked Part Two, is planned for release on November 21, 2025.
