ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of prominent religious scholar Maulana Mufti Rafi Usmani. The president paid a rich tribute to the religious and literary services of late Maulana Mufti Rafi Usmani and said he had rendered great services in the fields of Hadith and theology. He said that the late scholar’s services in the fields of education, religion, and particularly the promotion of religious education would be remembered. President Dr Arif Alvi prayed to Allah Almighty for peace of the departed soul.
Mufti Azam Pakistan Maulana Rafi Usmani Passes Away at 86
Mufti Azam Pakistan Maulana Rafi Usmani passed away at age of 86 after prolonged illness on Friday. He was president of Darul Uloom Karachi, patron-in-chief of Wafaq-ul-Madaris Pakistan. The late Mufti Azam was the elder brother of Mufti Taqi Usmani.Mufti Raffi Usmani was the son of Maulana Mufti Muhammad Shafi. Mufti Raffi Usmani was born in Deoband in 1936. He wrote several books and was among the leading scholars in the country.
