Army Chief Commends POF’s Role in Pakistan’s Defense Industry

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, on Tuesday visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, said ISPR, media affairs wing of the Pakistan Army, the Intern Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

During the visit, the COAS received a detailed briefing on POF’s production capabilities, its vital role in meeting the defense needs of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and its potential for exports, read the ISPR statement.

General Munir had the opportunity to observe a diverse array of POF products, including newly designed and locally manufactured weapons and ammunition, undergoing testing and trials.

In an address to POF officers and staff, the COAS commended their significant contributions to the security and economy of Pakistan, acknowledging POF as a cornerstone of the country’s defense industry.

He emphasized the importance of indigenous and local industries, stating, “The path to national progress is defined by establishments like POF Wah. We will persist in efforts for self-reliance and the incorporation of the latest technology, essential for ensuring the reliability and strengthening the defense of Pakistan.”

Earlier upon his arrival, COAS General Asim Munir was warmly received by the Chairman of POF Wah.
