ISLAMABAD: Satrang Gallery has put on display ‘Adornment’, a work of two very talented women artists, Mina Haroon and Seyhr Qayum.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomas Smetanka and PNCA Director General Ayub Jamali inaugurated the exhibition.
The exhibition highlights women’s jewelry, family heirlooms, passed down from generation to generation and meant to be worn but mostly kept in lockers these days.
Mina’s work highlights how jewelry is a woman’s identity and makes powerful social statements. While Seyhr’s works bring forth the adornment of the female body which illustrate social realities and an assertion of identities.
