Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Launches “First Alumni Festival 2024”

KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi on Saturday inaugurated the “First Alumni Festival 2024” in Karachi.

The opening ceremony attended by notable figures like scholar Anwar Maqsood and the provincial Minister of Information, and President of Arts Council Karachi Muhammad Ahmed Shah.

Anwar Maqsood praised Ahmed Shah for his dedicated efforts in promoting art and culture, encouraging students to focus on refining their craft and accumulating experience over time.

Muhammad Ahmed Shah said the Arts Council’s goal of making art accessible to all and commended mentors like Anwar Maqsood for guiding students.

During the event, Shah highlighted the role of the Arts Council Academy and Art School in nurturing talents, especially for those who cannot afford formal education. He shared the joy of the first convocation of Arts Council Academies and mentioned a private bank rewarding the work of seven academy students.

The festival, being held at the Arts Council Gallery for two days, showcased art exhibitions featuring pieces from the Arts Council Institute of Arts and Crafts (ACIAC). The event included various performances such as Drum Circle, Dance Flash Mob, Open Music, Live Painting, and Dance Performances.

Renowned singer Shafqat Amanat Ali captivated the audience with his mesmerizing voice, and the festival will to continue until Sunday, featuring performances by acclaimed singer Ali Azmat.
