RANCHI:  Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took 5 wickets as India bowled England out for 145 on 3rd day of the 4th Test on Sunday to set up a chase of 192 to settle the series. Ending the day at 40-0, India need another 152 runs to secure their third consecutive victory and the series win. Captain Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 24, accompanied by Yashasvi Jaiswal on 16.

Despite Zak Crawley’s resilient 60, England succumbed to India’s spin duo with Ashwin claiming 5-51 and Kuldeep Yadav 4-22. With regular wickets falling, England’s innings concluded, leaving the series level and poised for a decisive fifth Test in Dharamsala.

Earlier, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel’s defiant 90 in the morning session narrowed India’s deficit after starting the day at 219-7. As Ashwin led the bowling attack, England’s top order struggled, with notable dismissals including Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope.

Notably, veteran pacer James Anderson’s dismissal of Yadav marked his 698th Test wicket, inching closer to the historic 700-wicket milestone.
