Asian Champions Trophy: Pakistan’s Second Clash Against South Korea Ends in Draw

KARACHI: Pakistan ended on Monday their 2nd match against South Korea in a draw in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy being played in China.  After failing to defend their two-goal lead, Pakistan ended the second match in 2-2 draw against the South Koreans.

South Korea took the lead by scoring a goal in the second quarter of the match, which remained intact until the third quarter of the game. Pakistan could not score any goals up to the third quarter of the match and was losing by one goal.

However, in the fourth quarter of the match, the Pakistan made an impressive comeback, with Hanan Shahid scoring two quick goals against the South Korea. But before the game could end, South Korea made another goal to level the match.

Pakistan have not been able to claim any victories in the mega event. Pakistan’s match against Malaysia also concluded in a 2-2 draw.  Pakistan will play their third game against Japan on Wednesday. Pakistan will also play its match against India on September 14.  The semifinals of the event are scheduled for September 16, while the third position playoff clash and the final will take place on September 17.
