Attaullah Tarar Assumes Charge as Minister of Information and Broadcasting

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar officially assumed office as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday, marking the beginning of his responsibilities in the ministry. Upon his arrival at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar was warmly welcomed by Federal Secretary Shahera Shahid and other senior officials. Tarar, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from Constituency NA-127 in Lahore during the February 8 elections. Following his oath-taking ceremony at the President’s House, Tarar wasted no time in commencing his duties at the ministry.

In his remarks, Attaullah Tarar emphasized the importance of maintaining an open-door policy for the journalist community at the Ministry of Information. He underscored the significance of promoting positive and constructive journalism throughout the country, while also emphasizing the need to strengthen the relationship between the government and the media. Tarar pledged to collaborate closely with the media to effectively communicate the government’s initiatives and policies to the public. Recognizing the pivotal role of the media as a bridge between the government and the people, Tarar expressed his commitment to enhancing this vital function for the betterment of society.
