ISLAMABAD/INDORE: The Australian cricket team beat India by nine wickets in the third test at Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium on Friday. Travis Head made 49 not out and helped Australia chase down the tiny 76-run victory target in 18.5 overs on the third day of the test. India leads the four-test series 2-1 heading into the final match in Ahmedabad.

Australian cricket team suffered an early blow when Usman Khawaja was dismissed on the day’s second ball. But Labuschagne and Head patiently mounted the comeback and then accelerated the chase with extraordinary hitting to all parts of the ground.
Their devilry has undone the home side on a pitch heavily favoring India’s spinner. India batted like a team who had won the trophy, with loose shots and impatience across both test innings.
Facing criticism in the press since their abject collapse in India, Australia has shown resolve and character to inflict a defeat in return, one of the greatest victories in the decade. The heroes were Usman Khawaja, an Australian player whose chanceless 60 set Australia up, and Nathan Lyon, whose 8 wickets in the second test innings (11 for the match) kept India’s team lead to a molehill.
Head and Labuschagne put on an excellent show of pyrotechnic batting today (Friday) to put chasten the India team further and set us up for what would be a memorable fourth Test showdown at Ahmedabad on March 9.
