RIYADH: Australian Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Tim Watts will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Lebanon and the UAE on a mission to expand Australia’s foreign policy and build international partnerships, Arab media reported on Sunday.
Tim Watts tweeted: “Australia has global interests including investment, trade, security, and humanitarian cooperation. The Minister said, “Our foreign policy is focused mainly on our region, we are also keenly pursuing our interests worldwide.”

Watts highlighted that he wanted to build global partnerships in the region in order to meet international challenges.
Before visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), he will visit Lebanon to discuss ways to cooperate in diverse matters.
During his stay in Riyadh, the Minister will attend the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition against Daesh, to eradicate extremism and terrorism. He will also discuss regional security with his partners during his visit. He said that he would discuss the issues of climate change, and humanitarian challenges during his interactions with regional leaders.
Watts hopes to utilize the trip as an opportunity to thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE for their efforts to help in Australians evacuated from the crisis-hit Sudan.
