ISLAMABAD: The National Emergencies Operation Center of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) anticipated on Wednesday that a minor Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) was expected to prevail in Badswat Nullah. According to the NDMA, there is a possibility of minor glacial flooding causing localized flash floods, which could affect temporary bridge and road connections in upstream areas.

The NDMA has instructed the Gilgit Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA) and local administration to closely monitor the situation. They are advised to identify populations at risk and evacuate them to safer areas in case of moderate to high flows. Community-based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) teams have been put on high alert.
