MARDAN: The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) is leading all universities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings-2023.
According to the annual publication of university rankings by the Times Higher Education magazine, among 1,7900 universities from 104 countries around the world, 29 Pakistani universities are named in the ranking including Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and 24 have been assigned with the reporter status which indicates that even though these universities provided the necessary information for evaluation, they did not satisfy the ‘’THE World University Rankings’’ requirements to be given a rank on the 2023 list. Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) is now on forth number highest-ranked university in Pakistan according to THE World rankings 2023. The Time Higher Education University rankings measure an institution’s performance in four categories: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, using 13 performance metrics. AWKUM excelled in the categories of ‘Citations’, ‘Research’, and ‘International Outlook’, going up 80 ranks in the citations category compared to last year, from 268 to 180.
