BAKU: Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formally announced the country’s intention to reopen its embassy in Afghanistan in 2024. This strategic decision highlights Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering stronger diplomatic relations with Afghanistan and signifies a pivotal step toward enhanced bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The news, covered by Azerbaijani media outlet Report on Friday, underscores the significance of this diplomatic move. President Ilham Aliyev appointed Elham Nariman Oglu Mammadov as the ambassador to Afghanistan on July 28, 2021, according to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
