BAKU: Azerbaijan has expelled four employees of Iran’s embassy, citing activities “incompatible with diplomatic status” after months of strained relations between the two neighbours.
The move came just hours after Baku arrested six Azerbaijani nationals allegedly linked to Iranian secret services and accused them of plotting a coup.
Baku has been critical of Iran’s alleged backing of Armenia in Azerbaijan’s conflict with Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
