Azerbaijani FM Praises Recent Meeting with Armenian Counterpart

ANTALYA: During his participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov commended a recent meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, emphasizing its role in deepening understanding between the two nations.

Bayramov highlighted the significance of the meeting in enhancing comprehension of the complex situation and laying the groundwork for future engagements. Bayramov underscored the importance of continued dialogue, stating that both parties agreed to sustain contacts moving forward.

Reflecting on the peace negotiations, Bayramov emphasized the constructive nature of the two-day discussions, focusing on unresolved issues and differing approaches. He noted previous discussions where Armenia emphasized the rights of Armenians in Karabakh, while Azerbaijan stressed the regulation of relations between the two countries and the withdrawal of illegal Armenian forces from Azerbaijani territories.

Azerbaijan’s Commitment to Peace Agreement with Armenia

Bayramov expressed Azerbaijan’s commitment to signing a sustainable agreement with Armenia within the framework of international legal norms. He prioritized establishing a friendship based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.

Bayramov also highlighted the robust military and defense industry cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, including joint exercises, restructuring of the Azerbaijani army according to the Turkish model, and collaboration in defense production and projects.

He lauded Turkey’s success in achieving high domestic production rates in the defense industry and affirmed Azerbaijan’s steps towards meeting its military needs through various forms of cooperation and integration with Turkey.
