Babar Azam Maintains World’s No 1 Position in ICC ODI Rankings

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former skipper and top batter Babar Azam continued to hold the top position in the latest ODI rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday while leaving the number two and three batters still far behind.

The batting maestro maintained the top spot with 824 points, followed by Indian batters Shubman Gill (801) as number two and Virat Kohli (768) as number three. Like the last couple of months, the Indian batters also managed to occupy the three top positions behind Babar as Indian skipper Rohit Sharman (746) also managed to maintain his fourth slot.

ICC ODI Al-Rounder Rankings

As far as the rankings for all-rounders in ODI are concerned, Shakib-ul-Hasan has been finally overthrown by former skipper and all-rounder from Afghanistan, Muhammad Nabi, who recently smashed a terrific century against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib held the number one spot for about 1739 days (Since May 2019). He took over the slot from Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and remained on top as the longest unbroken stretch anyone has had on top as an all-rounder in the ODI. However, he has now been replaced by Nabi.

ICC Test Rankings

For the ICC Test rankings, Kane Williamson also consolidated his top spot in the batting rankings after knocking in a couple of centuries against South Africa, while Indian Jasprit Bumrah occupied his top slot in the bowler ranking with some terrific performances in the recent past.

Meanwhile, Kiwi bowler Kyle Jamieson displayed some good performance to jump six places up, reaching the 8th slot following six wickets against the.
